Terry Crews on Agent Groping Him: ‘I’ve Never Felt More Emasculated, More Objectified’ (Video)

Terry Crews offered more detail about his experience of sexual misconduct in Hollywood, saying he “never felt more emasculated, more objectified” than when WME agent Adam Venit groped him at a party.
“I did not know this man,” Crews said on “Good Morning America” Wednesday morning. “I had never had a conversation with him… The first time I had an interaction with him was at this event.”
Last month, the “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” actor said a “high level Hollywood executive came over 2 me and groped my privates” at an industry function in 2016.
Venit, the head of WME’s motion picture group, was placed on leave while the agency investigated an allegation of sexual harassment.

“He’s basically staring at me and he’s sticking his tongue out and, you know, it’s overtly sexual kind of tongue move… it’s a party. It’s packed… I’m looking, is this a joke? I don’t understand. It was actually so bizarre,” Crews said on “GMA.”
“He keeps coming over to me. He comes over to me,” the former football star continued. “I stick my hand out and he takes his hand and puts it and squeezes my genitals and I jump back like hey, hey and he’s like — he still is sticking his tongue out and all this stuff.”
Crews added, “He comes back again and won’t stop. Then I really got forceful, pushed him back and he bumps into the other partygoers, and he starts giggling and laughing.”
Crews said that he related his experience to Adam Sandler, one of Venit’s clients, at the party. “Sandler looked like he didn’t understand,” Crews said.
“It’s so bizarre I wake up every morning wondering, ‘Did this really happen?’ It’s nuts,” he said.

He recalled that his wife kept telling him that violence was not a way to settle anything because people would try and “bait” him as a “large African-American man” who would “be seen as a thug.”
“This is the deal about Hollywood. And it’s an abuse of power,” Crews said. “This guy, again, one of the most powerful men in Hollywood and he looked at me at the end as if, you know, who is going to believe you?”
Crews he said he was emboldened to speak out after dozens of women accused Harvey Weinstein of sexual misconduct — and the mogul lost his job and was shunned by industry organizations.
“When the Weinstein thing started happening I got PTSD,” he said. “I was going, ‘Oh my God, this exact thing happened to me.’ I understand why they won’t come forward. Let me tell you a lot of times go, why didn’t you come forward sooner. When a person of power breaks that boundary and violates that boundary, you’re a prisoner of war.”
Crews filed a police report with the Los Angeles Police Department last week, and in a TMZ video, he said he plans to file a lawsuit as well.
“People need to be held accountable,” Crews said.
WME has not yet responded to TheWrap’s request for comment.
