Steve Bannon: ‘Nothing Will Ever Come Between’ Him and President Trump

Former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon said on Thursday morning “nothing will ever come between” him and “President Trump and his agenda” — including when the president publicly skewers him.
Speaking on Breitbart radio on SiriusXM on Thursday, Bannon insisted to a caller he was still firmly pro-Trump.
“Nothing will ever come between us and President Trump and his agenda,” said Bannon, before saying “we’re tight on this agenda as we’ve ever been.”

The comments echoed what Bannon’s comments on Breitbart radio Wednesday night, saying that the president was a “great man.” He added: “You know, I support him day in and day out.”
Bannon’s comments were highly anticipated after the president ripped him Wednesday on account of the details in Michael Wolff’s upcoming book, “Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House.”
“Steve Bannon has nothing to do with me or my presidency. When he was fired, he not only lost his job, he lost his mind,” Trump said in a statement on Wednesday. “Steve was a staffer who worked for me after I had already won the nomination by defeating 17 candidates, often described as the most talented field ever assembled in the Republican Party.”

In leaked passages from the book, Bannon called Donald Trump Jr.’s 2016 meeting with a Russian lawyer, looking to share unsavory details on Hillary Clinton, as “treasonous” and “unpatriotic.” Bannon said special counsel Robert Mueller was going to “crack Don Junior like an egg on national TV.”
Afterwards, Trump’s lawyer, Charles Harder, sent a cease and desist letter to Bannon, who’s now back to running Breitbart, for breaching a confidentiality agreement and slandering the president. Despite the grilling from his old boss, Bannon, at least publicly, says he’s still behind the president’s “make America great again” game plan.
