Ratings: ‘Scandal’s’ 100th Episode Surges 17 Percent From Last Week

If only ABC could run a landmark “Scandal” every week.

The Disney-owned broadcaster’s 100th episode of the Shondaland drama jumped 17 percent in the key 18-49 demographic week over week, helping ABC match CBS across primetime averages. CBS still topped Thursday in total viewers, mostly thanks to 8 o’clock’s “Big Bang Theory.”

CBS and ABC tied for first in ratings, both with a 1.3 rating/5 share in the advertiser-coveted demo. CBS was first in total viewers with an average of 6.4 million, according to preliminary numbers. ABC was second with 5.2 million.

For CBS, “Big Bang” at 8 p.m. earned a 2.4/11 and 11.6 million viewers. At 8:30, “The Great Indoors” got a 1.2/5 and 6.3 million viewers. “Mom” at 9 had a 1.3/5 and 6.9 million viewers. At 9:30, “Life in Pieces” put up a 1.1/4 and 5.4 million viewers. “The Amazing Race” at 10 received a 0.9/3 and 4.2 million viewers.

For ABC, “Grey’s Anatomy” at 8 landed a 1.7/8 and 7.1 million viewers. At 9, “Scandal” scored a 1.4/5 and 5.4 million viewers. “The Catch” at 10 grabbed a 0.7/3 and 3.2 million viewers.

NBC was third in ratings with a 0.8/3 and in viewers with 4.1 million. “Trial & Error” at 8 managed a 0.6/3 and 2.7 million viewers. “Powerless” at 8:30 settled for a 0.6/2 and 2 million viewers. At 9, “Chicago Med” had a 1.0/4 and 6.2 million viewers. The season finale for “The Blacklist: Redemption” at 10 got a 0.7/3 and 3.9 million viewers.

Fox was fourth in ratings with a 0.7/3 and in viewers with 2.6 million. “MasterChef Junior” at 8 received a 0.9/4 and 3.3 million viewers. At 9, “Kicking & Screaming” garnered a 0.5/2 and 1.9 million viewers.

Telemundo and Univision tied for fifth in ratings, both with a 0.5/2. Telemundo was fifth in total viewers with 1.41 million, Univision was sixth with 1.38 million.

The CW was seventh in ratings with a 0.4/2 and in viewers with 1.2 million. “Supernatural” at 8 had a 0.5/2 and 1.6 million viewers. At 9, “Riverdale” got a 0.3/1 and 874,000 viewers.
