“American Idol” was the No. 1 show Sunday in the key 18-49 demographic, but the evening’s total-viewer victor was CBS — and by a pretty large margin. The so-called Tiffany Network can thank a down-to-the-wire Masters golf tournament for delivering big boosts to its “60 Minutes” and “Instinct.”
ABC was first in ratings with a 1.1 rating in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and second in total viewers with an average of 5.8 million, according to preliminary numbers.
CBS was second in ratings with a 1.0 and first in viewers with 8.3 million.
