Ratings: ABC Has Best Sunday Since Oscars, But Still Finishes Second

ABC just had its best Sunday since February’s Academy Awards — but that doesn’t mean the network won the night. (Because it didn’t.)
The Disney-owned broadcaster finished last night’s primetime in a second-place TV ratings tie with Fox, per preliminary Nielsen numbers. NBC topped the evening in the key 18-49 demographic, while CBS was first among total viewers.
NBC was first in ratings with a 1.0 rating/4 share in the advertiser-coveted demographic and second in total viewers with an average of 6.1 million. Following a rerun, “Little Big Shots” at 8 p.m. posted a 1.5/6 and 8.7 million viewers. At 9, “Chicago Justice” had a 1.0/4 and 6 million viewers. “Shades of Blue” at 10 got a 0.8/3 and 4.6 million viewers.

ABC and Fox tied for second in ratings, both with a 0.8/3. ABC was third in total viewers with 3.4 million, Fox was fourth with 1.8 million.
For ABC, “America’s Funniest Home Videos” at 7 received a 1.1/5 and 5.4 million viewers. At 8, “Once Upon a Time” landed a 0.9/3 and 3 million viewers. The “Match Game” hour at 9 got a 0.8/3 and 3.3 million viewers. At 10, the “American Crime” finale closed prime to a 0.4/2 and 2 million viewers.

CBS was fourth in ratings with a 0.7/3, but first in viewers with 7.6 million.
Univision was fifth in ratings with a 0.5/2 and in viewers with 1.4 million.
Telemundo was sixth in ratings with a 0.4/1 and in viewers with 992,000.
