NBC Deletes Tweet Calling for Oprah Presidency
NBC has deleted a controversial Tweet launched during Sunday’s Golden Globe awards which seemingly called for Oprah Winfrey to become president.
In an official explanation, the network put them blame on a “third party agency,” they had used for live tweeting the broadcast.
“The tweet was sent out by a third party agency for NBC Entertainment in real time during the live broadcast,” said NBC. “It is in reference to a joke made during the opening monologue and not meant to be a political statement. We have since removed the tweet.”
The original post raised more than a few eyebrows online even during a very eventful ceremony on Sunday.
“Nothing but respect for OUR future president,” it said.
