Kellyanne Conway Attacks CNN’s Chris Cuomo for Question About Climate Change (Video)
CNN’s Chris Cuomo and White House senior adviser Kellyanne Conway got heated on Wednesday night during a lengthy interview about President Donald Trump’s response to Hurricane Harvey. It escalated when Cuomo brought up climate change.
Cuomo asked if the Trump administration would discuss whether or not climate change had an impact on the storm and flooding that has left at least 31 people dead.
Conway fired back, “Chris, we’re trying to help the people whose lives are literally underwater, and you want to have a conversation about climate change?”

Cuomo initially pointed out that many Republicans in Trump’s cabinet voted against a bill to give funds to Hurricane Sandy victims and questioned if they “will play politics” with Harvey “like they did with Sandy.”
Conway quickly responded that the administration would be ready to help people in need, pointing to food and housing as significant areas of need.
“In terms of the funding, Congress will focus on the president’s priority, which is to connect with people in need with the money and the resources that they require,” Conway said.
Cuomo agreed that those intentions are correct and said Trump would have to “get the Republicans in line,” before asking, “What’s the main priority, Harvey or the wall?”
“Well, Chris, that’s not very fair,” Conway responded. “And I heard you three times in a row get the same sound bite out, so let me reply in kind.”
Conway went on to say that Cuomo needed to be fair and tell the whole story of what occurred during Sandy but the CNN anchor repeatedly chimed in with disagreement.
“They voted against what they saw as a pork-laden bill that included many other things,” Conway said. “I saw one was for a car for a Inspector General, another was to revamp some building — but this is about getting money to the people.”
Cuomo continued to press, questioning if Republicans will treat Harvey victims the way the GOP treated Sandy victims.
“The money will be there,” Conway said. “We hope that Republicans and Democrats will come together and not politicize this.”
