John Oliver is having a hard time understanding Donald Trump’s federal budget cuts — and not just because the HBO host disagrees with the proposal.
“I don’t speak fluent toddler psychopath,” Oliver explained Sunday on “Last Week Tonight.”
Beyond their apparent language barrier, the comedian and our current administration disagree on policy — and reality. Like, for example, the part where Secretary of State Rex Tillerson claimed the United States will be involved in fewer military conflicts over time.

“Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Hold on there,” Oliver jumped in. “You honestly think we’re going to have fewer military conflicts under President Trump? There is simply no way that is true. He just needs one person to tell him that World War I was called ‘The Great War,’ and he’s going to want to have a better one out of sheer pettiness.”
As for the departments Trump plans to cut off funding too — such as the Environmental Protection Agency and any money for the arts — that’s just a giant “F— You” to all of us, Oliver said.
