Jake Tapper just can’t seem to stop fighting with Bill O’Reilly.
The CNN anchor took to Twitter on Tuesday evening to blast the former Fox News host for accusing Tapper’s network of “ordering” talent to attack former DNC chairwoman Donna Brazile.
“Fox News reporting that CNN management ordering air talent to trash Donna Brazile. If true, major media story,” O’Reilly tweeted.

Naturally that didn’t sit well with Tapper, who smacked down the assertion in a tweeted response.
“Literally no one at CNN has said anything to me about how to cover Brazile. We’ve covered her allegations a bunch & never trashed her once,” he said.

It’s not the first time we’ve seen the O’Reilly-Tapper two-step. Last month, O’Reilly made the mistake of denouncing Tapper by name in a tweet, resulted in this third degree burn: “Sean Hannity kicking serious butt in the ratings. Tapper on CNN as low as you can go.”

“Low” would be sexually harassing staffers and then getting fired for it — humiliated in front of the world. Now THAT would be low. https://t.co/e2d6kOHL7F

Since losing his perch at Fox News after multiple allegations of sexual harassment and settlements, O’Reilly is more muted, but has not lost his megaphone.
In addition to Twitter, he continues to have his subscription podcast and series of best-selling books. Sinclair Broadcasting recently sot down reports that O’Reilly was in talks for a deal there.
Despite his troubles, O’Reilly remains comfortably ensconced among Forbes most recent list of highest paid television hosts, banking a cool, $37 million between June 2016 and June 2017.
