‘It’ Terrifies in New Trailer of Stephen King Adaptation (Video)
Pennywise the Clown is back in the new trailer for Stephen King’s “It,” and it’s terrifying.
Bill Skarsgard fills in the clown shoes once worn by Tim Curry as the diabolical clown Pennywise, who will threaten a new round of kids that includes “Stranger Things” star Finn Wolfhard, along with Jaeden Lieberher, Jack Dylan Grazer, Wyatt Oleff, Chosen Jacobs and Jeremy Ray Taylor.
In the trailer, we see some of the most famous scenes from both the book and the 1990 movie — Georgie’s boat floats down the street and Pennywise pops up to entice Georgie to come down to the sewers with him, the red balloons, and the house on Neibolt street, just to name a few.

The end of the trailer gets more and more haunting as terrifying scenes from the movie flash before our eyes, with Georgie screaming, “you’ll float too!” repeatedly.
In a recent interview, Skarsgard said that he scared the kids on the set of “It” while he was wearing his costume.
“At one point, they set up this entire scene, and these kids come in, and none of them have seen me yet. Their parents have brought them in, these little extras, right? And then I come out as Pennywise, and these kids — young, normal kids — I saw the reaction that they had,” Skarsgard said.

“Some of them were really intrigued, but some couldn’t look at me, and some were shaking. This one kid started crying. He started to cry and the director yelled, ‘Action!’ And when they say ‘action,’ I am completely in character. So some of these kids got terrified and started to cry in the middle of the take, and then I realized, ‘Holy s–. What am I doing? What is this? This is horrible,’” he concluded.
Andres Muschietti directed the remake, from a screenplay by Cary Fukunaga, Gary Dauberman and Chase Palmer.
“It” arrives in theaters September 8.
