Fallon’s ‘Tonight Show’ Claims Largest Demo Ratings Win Since Trump Inauguration
“The Tonight Show” still hasn’t reclaimed its previous total-viewer crown, but Jimmy Fallon’s late-night program just delivered its largest demo ratings win since before President Trump’s inauguration.
The NBC series topped its CBS competition among adults 18-49 by 42 percent last week, with a 0.64 versus Stephen Colbert’s 0.45 average. That margin is the biggest since the week of January 9-13.
Older-skewing CBS might counter that they focus more on the 25-54 demo, but Fallon won that one too. He also cleaned up among millennials, though that shouldn’t come as much of a shock.

But here’s something Leslie Moonves can hang his (probably really expensive) hat on: CBS’ “The Late Show” still brought in more overall audience members per episode, however, with 2.826 million versus Fallon’s 2.591 million.
This past week was what we in the biz call a “clean” one, with five nights of original episodes for both shows and no sports overruns.
More to come …
