Does ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ Have a Post-Credit Scene?

Hello! Given how hard it is for folks to try to avoid any of the big spoilers for “Avengers: Infinity War” — and boy there sure are some big ones — I’m gonna say straight up that you don’t have to worry about spoilers in this post.
Below I’m going to answer your question about whether you need to stick around after the credits for a bonus scene, and then after that any spoilers will be hidden in invisible text that you’ll have to highlight it to read it. So you’re not going to accidentally read something you don’t want to read here.
So, to answer your question. Yes, “Avengers: Infinity War” does contain one post-credits scene that’s at the very end of the credits. There is no additional scene midway through the credits as most Marvel movies do — just the one at the very end of the credits. And the credits are so long that it should be safe to visit the bathroom between when the movie ends and when the post-credits scene begins.
You definitely, definitely will want to see the extra scene though. Trust me on that. It’s the most essential post-credits scene Marvel has ever done.
Okay! So if you’re just here to find out if a post-credits scene is happening, this is the point where you should leave.
Warning! Spoilers beyond this point!
Highlight below to read the details of the “Avengers: Infinity War” post-credits scene.
The post-credits scene catches up with former SHIELD Director Nick Fury, who was responsible for creating the Avengers but who has been out of the saving the world game since “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” and his closest agent Maria Hill. The two drive through New York, discussing the alien invasion the Avengers are working to stop. Fury and Hill are a bit out of the loop, but they know that the invasion taking place in Wakanda is much, much bigger than what happened earlier in the movie in New York City.
Just then, a car careens to a stop in front of Hill and Fury, and they get out to find that no one is driving. People are starting to vanish straight out of existence all around Fury, including Hill, who evaporates as he watches. And then the worst happens: Fury himself starts to disappear. With his final act, he pulls a strange-looking object out of his jacket — a 1990s pager with some extra technology strapped to it.
Fury’s thumb hits the button on the pager as he disappears and it falls to the ground, and the screen changes to reveal a logo. Marvel fans will recognize it as that of Captain Marvel, referencing one of the two Marvel Cinematic Universe movies coming between “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Avengers 4.” So at the most dire moment in human history, Nick Fury decided to finally call in the big guns. Why did he wait this long? Who knows. I guess we’ll find out next March when the “Captain Marvel” movie — which is a prequel set in the 1990s — is released.
And thus ends the spoilers.
