Anthony Scaramucci: ‘The TV Cameras Are Back On’ in White House Press Room

Anthony Scaramucci, the new White House Director of Communications, is already making some changes, but his latest act as director isn’t about hair and makeup. White House journalists may be getting their wish to once again have televised press briefings after Scaramucci tweeted Monday that “The TV Cameras are back on.”

Scaramucci previously told CNN’s Jake Tapper that he thinks the cameras should be on for press briefings. “If you’re asking me for my personal opinion — and maybe the president will be upset with me for giving my personal opinion — we should put the cameras on,” he said in an interview Friday. “There’s no problem. I don’t think we need to have the cameras off. But if the president doesn’t want the cameras on, guess what? We’re not going to have the cameras on.”

Scaramucci went on to praise Sarah Huckabee Sanders, the new White House Press Secretary. He was criticized over the weekend for the comment he made next.
“The only thing I ask Sarah,” he said, looking into the camera, “Sarah, if you’re watching, I love the hair and makeup we had on Friday, so I’d like to continue to use the hair and makeup person.”
